Micro and Macro Photography

Macrophotography is simply photographing small items, often insects, flowers, jewelry and other household material. It invites a photographer to look closer and make these objects appear large.  A common rule of thumb is that macro photography reproduces the subject on at least a 1:1 scale, so that the image is life size or large.

Microphotography is the extreme form of macro photography. It involves capturing images of things that cannot be seen with the naked eye.
